Freecom Announced World’s First USB 3.0 External Hard Drive

Freecom is a Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Company and award-winning manufacturer of external hard drive and portable storage device. Today has announced the availability of World’s First USB 3.0 Ready External Hard Drive, the Hard Drive XS 3.0.

Freecom’s Hard Drive XS 3.0 offers transfer speeds of up to 130 MBps and is also the smallest 3.5″ desktop hard drive. according to the company.It will work with forthcoming USB 3.0 interfaces and is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports. The Freecom’s Hard Drive XS 3.0 support by USB 3.0 controller cards with advantage of USB 3.0 data throughput of up to 500 MBps( ten times of USB 2.0).

The Freecom’s USB 3.0 Controller Card for desktops is priced at £23 and the Express Controller Card for notebooks come with a little higher price at £26. The Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0  device will be available in Europe at mid-November with optional capacity; 1 TB, 1.5TB and 2TB with starting price at £99.99.
