Handheld Group is a manufacturer of rugged PDAs, mobile computers, and Smartphones, has recently announced its latest rugged mobile device called Algiz 10x, which is designed for field professionals. This 10.1-inch Windows tablet PC is powered by Intel Atom N2800 dual-core processor.
The Algiz 10x Windows tablet PC is designed to withstand harsh outdoor environments, and it is IP65-rated tablet, which has met stringent MIL-STD-810G military standards (resistant to drops, dust, extreme temperatures, vibrations, and varying altitudes).
The Algiz 10x rugged tablet PC utilizes the latest generation of MaxView technology to provide the best screen visibility. It supports 4GB of DDR3 RAM, with a solid-state drive (SSD), a built-in 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, MicroSD card slot for expansion, waterproof USB 2.0, VGA and RS232 ports.
This new rugged tablet PC runs Windows 7 Ultimate, and ready to upgrade to Windows 8. It comes with WWAN Gobi 3000-ready with a fully integrated modem and antennas. You can use WLAN 802.11 b/g/n for easy and fast connection through other equipment hotspots and local networks, or Bluetooth 4.0 for short-range wireless connection to peripheral devices.
The Algiz 10X rugged tablet PC currently showcased at INTERGEO in Hanover, Germany starting on October 9th to 11th, and at Mobility for Business in Paris, France on October 10th to 11th, plus several shows throughout the fall. This new rugged tablet PC will be available in the January Next year. Unfortunately, no word on pricing for now.
