Hasselblad Announces 24MP Lunar Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera

Hasselblad has just announced its upcoming mirrorless interchangeable lens camera called the Lunar for 2013. This new camera is developed in the traditional way, it is a handmade camera with custom hand grip with precious materials of your choice, such as Carbon fiber, titanium, wood, leather, gold, and other precious metals. Lunar is presented for both serious photographers and enthusiast.


Lunar Camera is actually the first result of a partnership between Hasselblad and Sony. So, Lunar basically is a Sony Alpha NEX-7, which mean it came with most features same with the NEX-7 such as 24-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, the E-mount lens compatibility, tilting rear LCD, high-resolution OLED EVF, and even uses the same firmware and a menu system.


Lunar Camera also has an electronic viewfinder with 100 percent coverage, 1080p HD video recording, and an ISO range of 100 to 16,000, with a battery life of up to 430 minutes and Memory Stick or SDXC storage option, auto HD, and DRO Anti-motion blur mode. This camera comes with an Innovative TriNavi system for DSLR-like tuning, two flash options and Anti dust system.


The Lunar camera software includes an exceptionally comprehensive set of creative styles, picture effects, scene selections and the smart ”intelligent face registration” making the shooting experience even more fun.


The Lunar camera supports both E-mount and A-mount lenses. It is expected to arrive on the market in the first quarter of 2013, with priced at around €5,000 or about $6,530.
