NEC has recently announced its newest rugged notebook, known as the ShieldPRO N22G. This rugged notebook can be use at temperatures from -20 to 50 degree Celsius, and also protected from dust, sand, and dropped from 90cm onto concrete, or water ( projected by a 6.3mm nozzle) aren’t a problem. So this rugged notebook is ideal for use at extreme situations.
The ShieldPRO N22G features a 12.1-inch back-lit LCD touchscreen with 1024 x 768 resolution, powered by a 1.33GHz dual-core i7-660UE CPU, a 4GB memory, an Intel QM57 chipset, SD card/Memory Stick Duo slots, three USB ports, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet and a dual language(English/Japanese) keyboard.
The company expected to sell this ShieldPRO N22G rugged notebook around 50,000 units over three years. The ShieldPRO N22G will be sold with an open price. All depending on you choose of XP or Windows 7, and the capacity storage of an HDD or SSD, and, etc. Sadly, no word yet on worldwide release.
