Smart USA introduces its latest two seats electric vehicle, the ForTwo Electric Drive in the United States. This new two-seat EV is scheduled to arrive in the market next spring, in two models; the coupe model for $25,000 and the cabriolet model sold for $28,000 MSRP, both models will get additional $750 destination charge.
ForTwo Electric Drive is the third generation of the company’s EV. It’s equipped with a 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery which can produce a 55kW (75 PS / 74 bph) and 96 lb-ft of torque. This emission-free vehicle able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 11.5 seconds and travel up to 145 km (90miles on a single charge).
There are three levels of charging, only two of which are for consumers: basic and connected. The basic home charger runs $1,300 plus installation. Add another $400 and installation for the connected charging station. Installation can run anywhere between $300 and $500.
