A new eco-friendly battery has been introduced by Sony at Eco-Products 2011 that take place at Tokyo starting on December 15th to 17th, 2011. This new battery is a paper-powered bio battery. It uses an enzyme to transform paper into glucose to produce a power to generate the electricity.
Sony uses an enzyme called cellulase that produced by Denmark based Novozymes to act as a catalyst, that allowed it to be reuse several times. According to the company, the battery can generate up to 18Wh of electricity or the same power that generated by six AA batteries. Unfortunately, Sony did not disclose the details of the bio battery’s performance. Read more detail at this link.
