Western Digital 1TB Mobile Hard Drive

Today Western Digital (WD) at Lake Forest, Calif. has announced their two new mobile hard drive with new extreme capacity. The highest capacity reach up to 1 TB and this device is the first highest capacity that WD ever made and the other up to 750 GB. Both of the models will made as a WD Scorpio Blue drives which will deliver high- performance with a 3 gigabits per second transfer rate.

WD Scorpio Blue hard drives offer high-performance, low power consumption and cool operation in portable applications. and also come with additional ability of

  • ShockGuard,Leading-edge ShockGuard technology combines firmware and Hardware advancements to meet the highest combine shock tolerance specifications required for mobile and notebook applications.
  • WhisperDrive, With WhisperDrive technology this device will be one of the quietest 2.5-inch drive.
  • SecurePark, Park the recording heads off the disk surface during spin up, spin down and when the drive is off. This ensures the recording head never touches the disk surface, resulting in improvement long-term reliability due to less head wear and improved shock tolerance.

The WD Scorpio Blue 750GB will be sold for $189.99 and WD Scorpio Blue 1TB for $249.99 Both device was covered by three year limited warranty.
